The last few months have been very difficult for many people in Clay Cross and it looks like we will continue to face challenges over the coming months.
As well as supporting our Council's community response to Covid-19, Cllr Charlotte Cupit and Lee Rowley, MP for North East Derbyshire, continued to support the bid for millions of pounds of regeneration investment in Clay Cross as part of the Government's Town Deal programme. Clay Cross has already received £500,000 to kick-start some of the proposed projects in the town centre and the main bid, for part of the £3.6bn Towns Fund, has now been submitted.
Alongside this, Cllr Charlotte Cupit and Lee Rowley MP have also been pushing for investment in our local infrastructure, such as a new school to serve The Avenue and surrounding area and continuing proper detailed work on how to reduce congestion on the A61. They are also campaigning for spending on our local leisure facilities and to finally get moving on the more detailed work on re-opening a new railway station that could serve Clay Cross and Tupton.
Cllr Charlotte Cupit is launching this survey to ask your views on the progress that has been made to date, and hear your thoughts on the next steps.
