ENGLISH VINEYARD TOUR AND WINETASTING WITH CLLR BARRY LEWIS

We are delighted to announce that our next fundraising event will be an English wine-tasting session and vineyard tour with Cllr Barry Lewis.
Back by popular demand following the success of similar events in Uppertown in 2016 and Holymoorside in 2017, this year our annual winetasting session will take place at Barry’s “Little Vineyard” on the edge of the village of Wessington and include a tour, so you can see for yourself how the grapes are grown.
When he’s not running the County Council as its Leader, Barry is also a well-known viticulturist and director of local producer, Amber Valley Wines, as well as a former Chief Executive of the UK Vineyard Association. Barry invites you to join him for a couple of hours on Saturday 8th September, from 5pm, and taste a range of English Wines in the beautiful North Derbyshire setting where some of the grapes were grown!
Tickets are just £20 each and include tastings of a range of English wines with some delicious canapes as accompaniments. Barry will be on hand to talk (and walk) you through English vine growing, the Amber Valley wines story and, of course, the wines themselves, in what promises to be an excellent afternoon social event.

As usual, any proceeds from this event will go towards our fighting fund for next year’s all-important District and Borough Council elections.
