After a six hour special planning committee meeting, members approved a recommendation by Conservative Councillor Stuart Ellis to reject a second application for 26 houses on Narrowleys Lane, Ashover.
Approximately 150 residents attended the meeting with several taking the stand to publically voice their concerns over the application. Ashover’s Conservative District Councillor William Armitage also played a key role in making sure the committee was fully aware of the opposition within the community.
The Parish’s efforts are now focused on defeating the appeal of the first application that was rejected last summer. It is believe the appeal will take place on 24th, 25th and 26th May 2016, although the venue is still to be confirmed.
