Local Conservatives are celebrating victory after winning two local by-elections by a two-thirds majority over Labour.
The elections were fought yesterday in Coal Aston and saw local Conservatives Gareth Hopkinson and Anthony Hutchinson elected as District and Town Councillors respectively, after winning over 66% of the vote with a significant swing from UKIP and Labour.
The two new Conservative Councillors are already hard at work delivering their plan for a better future for Coal Aston. Commenting, Councillor Gareth Hopkinson said: “We would like to thank those who supported us in these crucial by-elections and particularly those volunteers who got behind our campaign. As Councillors we pledge to work hard for all residents, regardless of how they voted.”
