North East Derbyshire Conservatives say a huge “thank you” to Carol Huckerby after 22 years service to Barlow and Holmesfield Ward as its local District Councillor.
Councillor Carol Huckerby has taken the difficult decision to resign as local District Councillor for Barlow and Holmesfield Ward, after 22 years of dedicated service to the area.
Carol has recently been taking some time out following the very sad passing of her husband Stuart earlier this year. She has decided that she can no longer fulfil the role due to the change in her circumstances and feels that the time is right to now hand the baton on.
Councillor Alex Dale, the Leader of North East Derbyshire District Council, said: “Carol deserves a huge “thank you” for her exemplary service to her Ward and the District Council as a whole. She has served her constituents with a great deal of dedication, commitment and respect and I want to thank her for her contribution over the past 22 years in helping to make our area an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
“As Chair of the Council in 2019/20, Carol raised over £3400 for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Parents Association of Children with Tumours and Leukaemia. These vital funds have helped many children and families in their time of need.
“I’m sure residents will join me in wishing Carol all the very best for the future and in thanking her once again for her exemplary contribution as a District Councillor.”
